Final Meeting of the Project

 

09-12th of October 2016

The chair of Business Informatics at the University of Oldenburg organized the final meeting of the MSC.ESE project. From the 09th to the 12th of October 2016 we hosted our project partners from Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan and Syria. The main objective was to finalize all projects activities across all phases and to close the project. In addition, possibilities of future cooperation, bureaucratic and financial issues were also discussed.

Workshop with the Syrian Partners in Oldenburg

 

09-10th of August 2016

University of Oldenburg organized on 09-10 of August 2016 a workshop with the Syrian Partners from MSC.ESE. President of Damascus University and three other colleagues attended workshop, which this time took place in Oldenburg, Germany. The main aims of this workshop were to discuss the long-term perspectives of the project and implementation of it’s outcomes at Damascus University. Besides that, topics such as project remaining activities,  financial issues and the possibility of any future cooperation plans were in focus of workshop.

Jordanian Students exchange visit in Germany

25th of October 2015

 

Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg in collaboration with Oldenburg University hosted three Jordanian Students in the period from 05.10.2015 until 19.10.2015 in form of exchange student visit within MSC.ESE project. The purpose of this visit was to facilitate student mobility to EU. Yasmin Nabil Zada, Heba Alzawahreh and Fares Alomary conducted assignment in ethods and algorithms for production optimization of manufacturing companies. At the end of her visit, Syrine presented the results of her study.

Second Tunisian Student exchange visit in Germany

 

06th of October 2015

 

Oldenburg University hosted another Tunisian Student in the period from 19.09.2015 until 04.10.2015 in form of exchange student visit within MSC.ESE project. The purpose of this visit was to facilitate student mobility to EU. Syrine Ben Romdhane conducted assignment in the impacts of integrating a ticketing system with ERP systems on IT operation management. At the end of their visit, the three students presented the results of their study.

Tunisian Students exchange visit in Germany

23th of August 2015

Oldenburg University hosted two Tunisian Students in the period from 08.08.2015 until 21.08.2015 in form of exchange student visit within MSC.ESE project. The purpose of this visit was to facilitate student mobility to EU. Hamdi Ben Hamadou conducted assignment in enhancing existing mobile application (Android) which collects context information on the device and Abderrahmen Ben Jemaa conducted an assignment on literature review on User-Defined Functions in open/proprietary DBMS. At the end of their visit, Hamdi and Abderrahmen presented the results of their study.

Roadmap Workshop with the Syrian Partners in Lebanon

11th of July 2015

Oldenburg University and organized at 01-02 of July 2015 a roadmap workshop with the Syrian Partners. This workshop took place in Beirut, Lebanon with the attendance of 5 colleagues from Aleppo University and 2 from Damascus University. The main aims of this workshop were to draw a roadmap for the project implementation in the Syrian partner universities and especially in Aleppo University, discuss the potential LFM for an extra year in the case the project gets prolonged, present the quality plan and define a co-financing strategy.

Follow-Up Meeting of Management and Academic Teams at KTH, Sweeden

25th of April 2015

Oldenburg University and Royal Institute of Technology, Sweeden organized at 20-21 of April 2015 the MSC.ESE Consortium Workshop to present the overall status of the project development, decide about a necessary extension after getting EACEA approval and determine the sustainability plan and student mobility. Besides that, this meeting was intended to have the fifth follow-up management meeting of the European and target partners to present the results of the implemented activities so far.

Training Visit to Egypt

30th of March 2015

A training visit to Egypt had been successfully taken place at 20-26 of March 2015 in parallel with the first Egyptian ESE conference. The presidents and the vice presidents of SU and ACU together with their contact persons attended this conference. Eight Teachers from Germany, Spain, Sweden, Portugal and Tunisia came to Egypt. The purpose of this visit was the training of local teachers at SU and ACU by the teachers who authored the modules.

A training visit to Tunisia had been successfully taken place at 02-06 of February 2015. Six Teachers from Germany, Spain, Jordan and Egypt came to Tunisia. The purpose of this visit was the training of local teachers at SF and TU by the teachers who authored the modules.

Consortium Workshop at ESCI, Spain

20th of September 2014

Oldenburg University and Escola Superior de Comerç International organized at 17-18 of September 2014 the MSC.ESE Consortium Workshop to present important managerial issues, define the student selection criteria and fees besides drawing the mobility plan for teaching the resulted courses in this project. Besides that, this meeting was intended to have the fourth follow-up management meeting of the European and target partners to present the results of the implemented activities so far and discuss any further suggestions and improvements to the outputs and outcomes that will be carried out during the last year of this project.

Training of the Syrian partners at University of Oldenburg

30th of July 2014

An additional training workshop on teaching methods and e-learning tools had been held at Oldenburg University, Germany at 24-25 of July 2014 to three staff members from Damascus University and one staff member from Aleppo University who were unable to attend the second training workshop at Oldenburg University in 2013. Tariq Mahmoud led this workshop and a roadmap to manage the implementation of the project in the Syrian universities had been discussed during this workshop.

Mobilis in Mobili. Enhancing academic, administrative and technical staff mobility in higher education within, from and to the EHEA

17th of June 2014

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) organized an Mobilis in Mobili on the 4th of June 2014 in Berlin to provide an opportunity for higher education experts from Germany, the EHR and the EHR’s neighborhood countries to share and discuss experiences and observations related to staff mobility in higher education. Dr. Tariq Mahmoud from the University of Oldenburg provided some good practices from the funded Tempus projects to overcome challenges and obstacles related to the administrative and technical staff mobility within and from/to the EHEA.

MoU between PSUT and GJU

20th of May 2014

The German Jordanian University (GJU) and Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) signed at April 2014 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish and implement a joint Master Programme of Enterprise System Engineering that will result from the Tempus MSC.ESE project. Project Consortium Workshopat University of Oldenburg

25th of February 2014

Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg hosted the fourht follow-up meeting and consortium project workshop at 14th and 15th of February 2014. The main aim behind this meeting was to finalize the syllabi of the ESE curriculum and start the process of authoring the modules and their teaching materials. The total number of participants was 29 and it is the first meeting in which the Syrian partners from Damascus University were able to attend.

Technical Meeting of Tempus and Erasmus Mundus Representatives of Projects involving Syria

12th of December 2013

At 10th of December 2013, DG EAC hosted a technical meeting of Tempus and Erasmus Mundus representatives of projects involving Syria. The meeting was dedicated to figure out the difficulties that face the projects in which Syrian universities are partners. An open discussion with several project coordinators on the difficulties met and the practical solutions found around two themes: mobility of students/staff and cooperation with Syrian higher education institutions. The meeting then concluded with conclusions of the discussion and lessons for the future under Erasmus+.

Project Presentation at the German-TunisianForumforUniversity Cooperationin Tunis

08th of December 2013

The national contact point for EU-third country programs planned for the first Week of December 2013, a network seminar in Tunisia. University of Oldenburg as a Tempus project coordinator was invited to make a practical example of a Tempus project in this seminar. The goal of this event was to bring the German and Tunisian University representatives together to investigate the future possibilities of cooperation in the new EU education program Erasmus+Tariq Mahmoud (Oldenburg University) and Abdelkerim Rezgui (Tunis University) held this presentation and shared the MSC.ESE project experience with about 80-100 Tunisian university representatives.

SU Training at University of Oldenburg

06th of December 2013

An additional training workshop on teaching methods and e-learning tools had been held at Oldenburg University, Germany at 28-29 of November 2013 to three staff from Sinai University who were unabale to get the visa on time for the second training workshop. Tariq Mahmoud led this workshop and a meeting with the vice president of Oldenburg University took place to provide more insights about the quality management at Oldenburg University and how can the partners benefit from such experience in their own university.

International ESE Conference and Follow-Up Management Meeting in Tunisia

27th of September 2013

The ESE conference and the follow-up management meeting was hosted by TU at 23-24.09.2013. Industrial and academic representatives participated in this meeting to agree on the structure/outlines of the master's programme and the modules offered within it. Feedback had been obtained from the invited participants as well. A follow-up meeting of the project management and academic team has followed the ESE conference in order to create a road map for management, coordination and implementation besides determining the roles of the individual experts, reviewing results from previous activities, defining common knowledge required to acquire the programme and initiating the process of module authoring.

Training Workshop in Teaching Methods and E-Learning Tools

Another training workshop on teaching methods and e-learning tools had been held at the Oldenburg University, Germany at 20-21 of August 2013. Tariq Mahmoud led this workshop with Prof. Jorge Marx Gómez (OL). The participants of this workshop had represented their Jordanian, Tunisian and Egyptian Universities. Different teaching methods had been presented in this workshop with a deep discussion on how to integrate the competency-based approach within the curriculum design. Training Workshop in ESE & PBL at PSUT, Jordan

20th of June 2013

A training workshop on problem-based learning and integration of competency-based approach in Enterprise Systems Engineering curriculum had been held at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan on the 15-17 of June 2013. Tariq Mahmoud (Oldenburg University, Germany) led this workshop with Prof. Walid Salameh (the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at PSUT and the MSC.ESE Contact Person) and Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai (the PSUT Vice-President). The main points that have to be taken into consideration while developing the ESE curriculum in the partner countries and particularly Jordan had been pointed out. Training Workshop in ESE & PBL at Tunis University, Tunisia

25th of May 2013

A training workshop on problem-based learning and integration of competency-based approach in the enterprise systems engineering curriculum had been held at Tunis University, Tunisia on the 13th and 14th of May 2013. Tariq Mahmoud (Oldenburg University, Germany) led this workshop and pointed out the main points that have to be taken into consideration while developing the ESE curriculum in the partner countries and particularly Tunisia. Mehrez Chaher, Ourida Benboubaker and Abdelkerim Rezgui from Tunis University and Faiez Gargouri, and Walid Mahdi from Sfax University attended this workshop. A meeting with the president of Tunis University Dr. Hmaid Ben Aziza took place at the 14th of May to discuss the possibilities to accredit the new curriculum at the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education.

Consortium Workshop at Luxor, Egypt

Oldenburg University and Al Ahram Canadian University had successfully organized at 17-18. April 2013 an MSC.ESE consortium workshop at Luxor, Egypt. The main aim behind this workshop was to have the second follow-up management meeting of the European and target partners to present the results of the curriculum analysis survey, draw the first structure of the master programme and discuss any further suggestions and improvements to the outputs and outcomes that will be carried out during the funded period of this TEMPUS project.

The agenda for this meeting was divided into three parts over two days. The first part was dedicated to discuss the report of the curriculum analysis survey. The second part was dedicated to provide best practices of similar programmes in German Universities. The last part was more dedicated to provide the first structure of the ESE master programme.

Curriculum Survey Analysis Workshop at Sama Tower, Cairo, Egypt

22th of January 2013

After participating in the National TEMPUS day, a workshop to discuss the curriculum analysis survey had been held at Sama Tower, Cairo on the 15th and 16th of January 2013. Tariq Mahmoud (Oldenburg University, Germany) and Gamal Kassem (Magdeburg University, Germany) illustrated the main points that have to be included in the survey that will be published at the partner countries. Hazem El-Gendy and Shahira El-Alfy from Ahram Canadian University and Hassan Sherif Amr El-Taher, and Ahmed Sarhan from Sinai University attended this workshop. Sinai University President Dr. Hatem El-Bolok attended also the last day of this workshop. The topic of how to accredit the master programme at the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education had been also discussed.

Curriculum Analysis Survey Workshop

Some of the partners had the chance to attend the National TEMPUS Day - "TEMPUS in Egypt, 10 Years" that was held in the Social Club, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University on the 13th and 14th of January 2013. Successful kick-off meeting of the EU Tempus project "MSC.ESE"

The Tempus program supports the EU education programs since 1990: the development and reform of higher education institutions in the partner countries. The aim of the MSC.ESE (Exporting Master programme in Enterprise Systems Engineering to Jordan, Syria, Tunisia and Egypt) project lies in the development of a Master's programme in Enterprise Systems Engineering to strengthen the design, development, implementation, use and maintenance of the operational socio-technical application systems. This network includes 13 EU and southern Mediterranean partners.
